The economical impacts of the ports to Mombasa residents.

1. Creation of job opportunities
Mombasa ports have Create employment opportunities to the residents of Mombasa in different positions like, transport operators, security officers, clinical officers and so on.This has led to improvement of their living standards hence purchasing power.

2. Development of infrastructures.
Infrastructures such as roads and railways have developed due to Mombasa ports, especially the roads that leads to the ports and different parts of Mombasa. This is to ensure the smooth run of vehicles that gets in and out of the port and also to curb traffic jam that usually sky rocket at odd hours. Development of Infrastructures have also minimize the loss that could have been caused by delay of goods through traffic. This has also led to improvement of living standards among the residents since many pe9ople get employed as contractors.

3. Source of revenue to the county government of Mombasa.
Ports provides revenue to the county government of Mombasa through taxation. Through taxation Mombasa county has been able to run smoothly

4. Improvement of social amenities
Schools and health facilities in Mombasa county are on another level in terms of technology. most hospitals in Mombasa county uses modern equipments as compared to other hospitals e.g coast general.
5. Future career
Most people depend on Mombasa ports to earn a living and some end up working at the port for the rest of their lives in different positions such as security officers, transport operators, clinical officers, Public Relations officers, communication officers or even drivers thus increase their  purchasing power.


6. Nature talents
Mombasa ports nurtures talents to the residents especially the youths who are interested in things to-do with the port I.e if one have a passion in communications or anything related with communication they'll be given opportunities to enhance their talents. Besides that they are also instilled with business minds to enable them to start and run their business smoothly.


7. Market expansion
Markets such as Kongowea and Miritini have expanded due to Mombasa ports. Many products from Mombasa ports are usually sold out at Kongowea and Miritini then to other small markets.

8. Reduce crime
Mombasa ports have reduce crimes since many people especially the youths have been employed in different sectors enabling them to depend on themselves. Besides that they are usually busy as the say goes an idle mind is the devils workshop.
